Those in areas of the town that so far show no 3D models in Google Earth are especially welcome, as are models of places outside of yet related to Letchworth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Places on the walking tours<\/strong><\/strong>: as listed <a title=\"Blog post: 'Walking tours',\" href=\"http:\/\/competition.letchworthfestival.org\/?p=1269\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\nNOTE: You are invited to produce a &#8216;fly-through&#8217; video tour from the models in Google Earth, for screening in the Finale. <em>There is even a special prize for this, from the <a title=\"Letchworth Garden City Society (LGCS): Town Trail.\" href=\"http:\/\/lgcs.org.uk\/towntrail.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Letchworth Garden City Society<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Community centres <\/strong><\/strong>and<strong><strong> public venues<\/strong><\/strong>: these are listed\u00a0<a title=\"Blog post: 'Community meeting places to model'.\" href=\"http:\/\/competition.letchworthfestival.org\/?p=951\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Shopping streets<\/strong>: Leys Avenue, Eastcheap, Station Road and Garden Square. You can do these a section at a time. Apply plain brickwork to the sides (unless on a corner) and rear; omit any extensions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schools<\/strong>, especially the older ones. Again, you may choose just to show what is visible in StreetView.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The pubs<\/strong>: there are partial lists\u00a0<a title=\"Pubs in Letchworth.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beerintheevening.com\/pubs\/results.shtml\/el\/Letchworth%3BHertfordshire\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a title=\"Pubs in &amp; around Letchworth.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.yell.com\/s\/pubs-letchworth+garden+city.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong><a title=\"Letchworth Recycling Centre.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wasteaware.org.uk\/db\/hwstimes.cfm?resourceID=123\" target=\"_blank\">Recycling Centre<\/a><\/strong> and the\u00a0<a title=\"Letchworth Sewage Treatment Works.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.anglianwater.co.uk\/news\/planned-investments\/2173E39DA6F348B5B8DC08844C84217B.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sewage Treatment Works<\/strong>,<\/a> since those sites provide essential services to this town and area.<\/li>\n<li>&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further places are identified in previous posts <a title=\"Blog post: 'Iconic buildings to model'.\" href=\"http:\/\/competition.letchworthfestival.org\/?p=1096\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a title=\"Blog post: 'Civic buildings'.\" href=\"http:\/\/competition.letchworthfestival.org\/?p=1111\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>,<em> but do check whether any you might pick have already been modelled.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are an entrant to the Competition with 3D model(s) in progress, please ignore this and upload \u00a0them to the 3D Warehouse by end Wednesday 31 October!
